Privacy policy
What we collect, why we hold it, where it lives, and how to get it back or have it deleted.
Working draft, pending legal review. The registered company name, data controller details, supervisory authority and effective date still need to be filled in, and the list of subprocessors must be completed to match the services actually in use.
1. Who is responsible
FuryHost is the data controller for information about you as a customer — your account, billing and support history. For the content of the sites you host with us, including data about your own visitors, you are the controller and we act as your processor.
2. What we collect
Account details: name, email address, and the organisation you represent if you give one.
Billing details: what you bought and when. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored on our systems.
Support correspondence: what you wrote to us and what we replied, kept so the next person picking up your ticket has the history.
Server and access logs: IP addresses, request paths, timestamps and error output, used to operate the platform, investigate incidents and block abuse.
Site data: the files and databases of the sites you host. We access these only to run the service, to perform work you have asked for such as a migration or a restore, or to investigate a fault or security incident.
3. Why we hold it
To provide the service you have asked for, to bill you for it, to keep the platform secure and available, and to meet legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your site content or support history to train anything.
4. Where your data is stored
You choose the region for your database and files when you sign up, and they stay in it. Only cached copies of your publicly accessible pages are distributed to our other regions so visitors can be served from nearby. Account and billing records are held separately from site data.
5. Who else touches it
We use a small number of third parties to operate — a payment processor, an email delivery provider, infrastructure suppliers and an error-monitoring service. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and receives only what it needs to do its job. The current list is available on request and will be published here once finalised.
6. How long we keep it
Site backups are retained for the window stated in your plan. Access logs are kept for a limited operational period and then discarded. Billing records are kept as long as accounting law requires. After you cancel, your site data is held for a short grace period so an accidental cancellation can be reversed, then deleted.
7. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to particular processing. You can export your full site data yourself at any time from the dashboard. Write to us and we will respond within the period the law requires; if you are not satisfied, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not run advertising trackers on it. Cookies set by the WordPress sites you host are your responsibility as their operator.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will email account holders rather than quietly updating the page.
10. Contact
Privacy questions and data requests go to support@furyhost.com and are handled by a person.
