Terms of service

The agreement between you and FuryHost when you host a site with us, in plain terms.

Working draft, pending legal review. The registered company name, governing jurisdiction and effective date still need to be filled in, and a qualified adviser should review the whole document before it is relied on.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and the company operating FuryHost. By opening an account, or by asking us to migrate a site on your behalf, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are able to bind that organisation.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for what happens under your account, including actions taken by developers or agencies you give access to. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised and we will help you secure it.

3. Acceptable use

You may host any lawful WordPress site. You may not use the service to send unsolicited bulk email, to host malware or phishing content, to infringe someone else's rights, or to run workloads that deliberately degrade the service for other customers.

Some plugins are blocked because they duplicate and conflict with platform features — caching, backup and security plugins in particular. This is a technical restriction rather than a judgement about the plugin.

4. Plans, limits and billing

Plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices exclude local taxes, which are added where applicable.

Each plan includes an allowance for sites, monthly visits, storage and bandwidth. Exceeding an allowance does not suspend your site and does not trigger an automatic charge. We contact you, and if the higher usage is sustained rather than a one-off, we discuss moving to a larger plan.

5. Migration

Migration is included at no additional cost for as many sites as your plan allows. To perform it we need access to your existing hosting, which you confirm you are authorised to grant. We test the copy before anything is switched over, but we cannot guarantee that every third-party integration behaves identically on new infrastructure.

6. Backups

We take encrypted daily backups, retained for the period stated in your plan, plus a restore point before any update we apply on your behalf. Backups are a safety net rather than an archive, and we recommend you keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

7. Availability and credits

We publish measured uptime monthly. Where availability falls below the commitment in your plan, a credit is applied to your next invoice automatically — you do not need to claim it. Credits are the remedy for downtime.

Planned maintenance that requires downtime is announced in advance and scheduled outside peak hours for your primary region wherever possible.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend a site that is actively harming others — sending spam, serving malware, or consuming resources in a way that degrades neighbours — and will tell you why and what is needed to restore it. For non-urgent breaches we contact you first and allow a reasonable period to put things right. Unpaid invoices lead to suspension before termination, with notice at each step.

9. Your data, and leaving

Your content remains yours. You choose the region your database and files are stored in, and it stays there; only cached copies of public pages are distributed to other regions.

You can export a complete archive of files and database at any time and cancel from the same screen. There is no exit fee and no notice period. After cancellation we retain your data for a short grace period so an accidental cancellation can be undone, then delete it.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that point means accepting the updated terms; if you would rather not, you can cancel and export your data.

11. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Our liability is limited as set out in this section, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@furyhost.com and reach a person rather than a form.
